“Grow Well” Garden Consultation

The Central Minnesota Sustainability Project puts its efforts towards making sustainable living a practice we can all share. We seek to leverage our diverse gifts to create a lively and prosperous community you call home. We’re expanding our services to make community and backyard gardening accessible for you.

Through our Garden Consultation program, we are offering an array of services for you to choose from where our garden specialists will step in to help you create the community garden you have dreamed of.
 

Community Gardens Development Services:

Basic Services

Seed:

• Education Session with potential gardeners: Why Community?

• Survey of potential gardeners to determine level of horticultural knowledge and
necessary supports

Plant:

• Develop Garden Council leadership team

• Site Survey to recommend ideal location, garden structure, and required infrastructure, improvements/investments (includes a soil test)

Harvest:

• Develop decision-making procedures, roles/responsibilities, lines of authority/accountability within Garden Council leadership team

• Cross Cultural Gardening: Workshop covering techniques for sharing the garden across differences

Retreat Services:

• Facilitate Story Circle to explore land dis/reconnection and relationship to food and community

• Community Workshop Series, including: Food Sovereignty, Organic pest management, Sustainable gardening practices, Food preservation, and Nutrition/Healing Foods.

• Ground-breaking Assistance and Planting Demonstration

• Compost Site Development
